On the Horror Genre

"Horror is a genre that has always fascinated me," says Oster. "I love the way it can explore our deepest fears and anxieties. Horror can be a cathartic experience, allowing us to face our fears and come out stronger on the other side."

Oster believes that the best horror stories are those that tap into our primal fears. "We all have a fear of the unknown, a fear of death, and a fear of being alone," he says. "Horror stories can explore these fears in a safe and controlled environment."

On His Creative Process

Oster's creative process begins with an idea. "I'll often get an idea for a story while I'm reading, watching a movie, or even just walking down the street," he says. "Once I have an idea, I'll start to develop it into a story outline."

Oster's story outlines are typically very detailed. "I like to know exactly what's going to happen in each scene before I start writing," he says. "This helps me to stay focused and to avoid getting bogged down in the details."

Once Oster has a story outline, he begins writing. "I usually write in the first person, because I find it helps to create a more immersive experience for the listener," he says. "I also try to use vivid language and imagery to create a sense of atmosphere and suspense."

On the Future of Horror

Oster believes that the future of horror is bright. "Horror is a genre that will always be popular, because it taps into our deepest fears and anxieties," he says. "I think we're going to see a lot more innovative and experimental horror stories in the future."

Oster is particularly excited about the potential of virtual reality (VR) for horror storytelling. "VR can create a truly immersive experience that can be both terrifying and exhilarating," he says. "I think we're going to see some amazing horror VR experiences in the coming years."

Aaron Oster is a master of the horror genre. His podcast, We Hunt Monsters, is one of the most successful and popular horror podcasts in the world. Oster's insights on the genre, his creative process, and the future of horror are invaluable for anyone interested in the horror genre.
